"It is a truth universally acknowledged that when one part of your life starts going okay, another falls spectacularly to pieces"
The infamous Bridget is back in this absolutely fabulous third instalment of the iconic series - it's witty, original, and true to everything we love about Bridget Jones.

When continuing a film series as iconic Bridget Jones, there is of course a lot of trepidation for both the fans and the film producers - you have to get it right. And get it right they did! The team at Working Title capture typical Bridget in 2016; they acknowledge this time jump brilliantly, and watching Bridget struggle with 'staying fresh' in this ever-changing era is what really made the film for us here at On It. Of course, we still have Bridget's typical love triangle, however this time Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) is long gone, and instead we meet her new American love interest. The 'who's the father' storyline is hardly original, but the strength of the performances and writing make the film the smash box office hit that it is.

"You only get one life. I've just made a decision to change things a bit and spend what's left of mine looking after me for a change"

For any actor or writer we would highly recommend seeing this film - the accent work by Renee Zellweger is fantastic as usual, alongside the remarkably consistent character work by herself, Bridget's brilliantly hilarious friends, and of course, Colin Firth. Mark Darcey hasn't changed a bit, and the finale scene of Bridget's labour is one of Firth's best comedic performances. As one of the strongest screen actors around, we truly believe he is someone that any young-actor-in-training should be learning from.

Alongside the brilliant Emma Thompson (a particular favourite actress of ours), who's cameos contain some of the best one liners throughout the film, as her pragmatic character gets dragged into the crazy world of Bridget Jones.

Overall, it's a fantastic evening out at the cinema, and we would highly recommend, giving it a solid four star rating!
So what are you waiting for!?
